Thank you so much for the generous donations in paying some of our monthly bills and the gift card for food. It is comforting knowing there are great people and organizations who are willing to help families during a very difficult time in their lives. I am truly appreciative. JP - Shades of Pink client
I just phoned XX with the good news. Her response was silent because she was crying......when she could get words out she expressed her gratitude and appreciation to you and the foundation. Bless you for your work. Shades of Pink social work partner
Dear Shades of Pink,
Thank you so much for your generosity. It helped me so much to get the help I needed while going through my treatment. I greatly appreciate everything you did for me. PE, Livonia
Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!
What a thoughtful gesture. I received your gift of $400 for food expenses which will most certainly aid me in more ways than you can imagine. I am so grateful and blessed that Shades of Pink have been sent to shine on me. Again, I express my appreciation. JD, W. Bloomfield
I would like to thank you – everyone for helping me out this summer with my car payments. I don’t know how I could have done it without your help. I say a prayer for everyone you have helped like me. Times get rough, but faith keeps us going. Support for others also helps us get through these times. Thank you so much. GM, Garden City
"Shades of Pink Family, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the assistance that was granted on my behalf. Often people overlook the many needs and responsibilities that continue to accumulate after one has been stricken with an illness. Your foundation has made my burden a little more tolerable and more encouraging that I am not by myself. Thank you so very much for a much needed blessing." JD May 2011

"About a year ago, following some devastating family losses, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and needed a mastectomy. A week later I was told by my employer that I was being laid off. My number one goal was to make sure that I had health insurance. My social worker put me in touch with the Shades of Pink Foundation. Within days she called me back to let me know that yes, Shade of Pink would be able to help me out with some of my health insurance, I burst into tears. You really have no idea how much this helped me out financially especially since I’m doing this on my own. It was like having a huge weight lifted off my chest so I could actually take a moment and breath. I can’t thank the Shades of Pink Foundation enough for their continued support."
"Thank you very much for the Kroger gift card you provided to my family just before the holidays. It helped us tremendously. In December, I had a bilateral mastectomy after 16 chemo treatments in 2010. I will soon begin 6 weeks of radiation. The card helped my family through the holidays since I've been off work recovering and I'm the only income source for my family of 4. Thank you again!"
"This morning I gave both patients the Kroger’s cards you so generously provided. Both of them were teary upon receipt of the gifts. Providing food to individuals and families is one of the kindest kindnesses there is. Thank you so very much." From one of our social workers
"Thank you so much for coming to my assistance with the Shades of Pink Foundation. Three months of rent is a considerable amount. I finished my treatment for breast cancer and lymph node cancer and I have had a hard time getting myself back to work. With your help I can do that now – I will keep you posted."
"I was able to get my SUV fixed, and I will say it is working much better, it is an old car so of course there are a few more clicks and clacks that may need looking at, but at this time I feel the biggest problems are truly fixed and taken care of. Thanks to all of you, when you have foundations, volunteers, friends, and organizations helping you it truly makes everything else we all have to go through so much easier, again I want to say thank you very much."
"C was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in January, 2010. She has subsequently undergone chemotherapy and had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstructive surgery. She has faced her diagnosis and treatment with courage and grace. She shares her appreciation with everyone who has helped care for her. She truly is worthy of consideration for giving financial assistance."
"I am a very appreciative recipient of your foundation in the Fall of 2009. Your assistance came at a time when I was in extreme financial distress. My treatments ended in May of this year and I am still struggling to keep my head above water. I am an entrepreneur and having never been ill before my breast cancer, it came at quite a surprise how financially devastating an illness can be. So I have become a great supporter of your organization and will be participating in the Strides of Hope Walk this Spring and will be encouraging others to join me."
