Strides of Hope Walk at the Detroit Zoo

    Hello Everyone

      This year April 19, 2008 found us having a great time seeing old friends, meeting new friends, shopping in the vendor tent, and walking for a worthwhile cause. The timing was the same as last year with registration and vendors open at 7:30 a.m. Opening Cermony at 8:30 a.m. Walkers entered the zoo up until 9:45 to walk but the majority of the group began together after the warm-up and a big" Hello" from Dr. Pamela Benitez beginning at 8:30 a.m.

      The registration was $35.00 . We encouraged all of you to strengthen your support by talking to friends, co-workers, and family about joining you on the walk or sponsoring you through a donation. Note all forms were on this web site for your convenience. This was not a requirement for participation and we felt privileged that you would give us a precious Saturday morning to walk but as we all know the need is great for women who have been financially impacted by breast cancer.

     We made the mega tent an inviting environment to come and have fun. There were complimentary refreshments as well as a cappuccino bar to whip up some fancy drinks. The vendors represented items from jewerly to energy drinks. Remember when you supported the vendors you were supporting Shades of Pink Foundation.

We are already planning next years walk so check back to find out the specific date in April 2009.
